Monster Energy fue fundada en 2002 por Rodney Sacks , un empresario e inversor estadounidense. Después de ver un aumento en las bebidas energéticas que se venden en las tiendas de comestibles estadounidenses, Sacks decidió crear una bebida que destacaría entre la multitud. Quería crear una bebida que estuviera llena de energía y de buen gusto.
La bebida Monster Energy original se lanzó en 2003 y rápidamente ganó popularidad debido a su sabor único y su alto impulso energético. La bebida se hizo con una combinación de guaraná, taurina y cafeína, lo que proporcionó el impulso de energía por el que la bebida era conocida.
La popularidad de la bebida siguió creciendo y, en poco tiempo, Monster Energy se convirtió en un nombre familiar. La bebida energética fue adoptada rápidamente como la nueva cara de los deportes extremos y fue vista como un símbolo del estilo de vida lleno de adrenalina de los atletas y buscadores de emociones .
