I've always been a caster of some kind since the day I started gaming at kid, going all the way back to the Dragon Warrior series on NES. Wizards, clerics, sages, mages, priest, warlocks... I loved playing all of them in every game.
World of Warcraft was not my first MMORPG. That was Asheron's Call, and, yes, I was a mage there too.
When I was introduced to WoW, I immediately fell in love with the Arcane mage and especially the old Tier 2 set. Since then, he was, is, and will always be my main.
Factoid: Athalos is a real life nickname I've had since I was a kid. It's a play off of the name Athos, after my favorite Musketeer, and it's a name I've always carried with me ever since even into the short stories I write.
PS: He also has a last name from the stories. It is Wrenne. And he also has a brother, Dagus. And in those stories, going back 20+ years, Athalos and Dagus have had many adventures together.
